Support for staff health and wellbeing

We would like to thank our local communities for your outpouring of kindness, and offers of support for our remarkable staff over the past 12 months. Your thoughtfulness has meant so much to the teams and knowing you have been thinking of them really has helped to boost morale.

The pandemic confronted NHS teams and individuals with demands of a type, intensity, volume and longevity that were unprecedented, and understandably this has taken its toll.

The Royal Berks Charity is committed to supporting the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in building on its existing work to support the physical and mental health recovery of all staff to enable them to continue to provide the best quality care possible for patients.

A number of initiatives and projects are underway, including the provision of a staff health and wellbeing centre.

The centre will be a hub for staff support of all kinds including wellbeing and exercise facilities and classes for all levels of competence, capability and commitment including yoga, pilates and a gym. The critical importance of mental health and wellbeing is also well provided for, with quiet spaces for meditation, mindfulness and psychological support sessions. There will also be dedicated rooms for brief periods of respite in addition to much needed outdoor space.
