Staff at the Royal Berkshire Hospital (RBH) do an incredible job, and sometimes we forget that they too have families. The Rainbow Day Nursery, which is for the sole use of children whose parents work at RBH, is about to go through a period of renovation and we need your support please.
Work will start by extending the baby room which looks after children aged three months to two years and needs to extend its current facilities to separate the sleeping and play areas and provide much needed storage space and furniture. For this room we are looking to raise £17,000.
Phase two will be developing the toddler room which cares for children aged 2-3 years. We want to create an exciting environment that will encourage children to explore, grow in their confidence and independence. The new room will include a mini library where children can take themselves, unwind with a story and discover the world around them. In addition the room will have a defined play area with a range of furniture designed for children, new equipment and educational toys. For this phase we are looking to raise £10,000.
The third phase will be to develop the ‘Big kids’ room for children aged 4-5 years. The work will include re-defining the areas of learning to enable children to prepare for school. The room will include a range of low level furniture for children to access easily and independently, along with a wide range of suitable toys and resources for this age group. For this phase we are looking to raise £10,000.
If, through your generosity, we manage to raise more than the £37,000, every penny you give will go towards improving the facilities and further develop the service we give to our children attending the nursery.
