How would you like to leave a legacy to 700,000 people?
A legacy that will help an entire community. Your community.

When we say that you’ll be leaving a legacy to 700,000 people, it’s because that’s the number of people who are cared for by the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and its associated Health Centres, every year.

As an NHS charity, our funds come entirely from donations, events and gifts in wills contributed by the caring people across our local communities – people just like you, who want to leave a parting gift that will help continue to support the incredible NHS staff at our hospitals and enhance the level of care we provide to thousands of patients and their families every year.

Any money you choose to leave us will allow us to continue to work towards providing the equipment, facilities and training that the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust needs to remain at the cutting edge of healthcare.

If you’re considering this wonderful gesture, then thank you!

A forever thank you in your Will can change lives for years to come.

A gift in your Will is just one of many ways that you can choose to support our work. But we have received some amazing legacy gifts from generous supporters.

And more and more people are starting to ask about how they can help member charities do their vital work to help the NHS go further and do more.

Gifts in Wills to NHS charities do so much to help us support NHS staff, provide research and specialist equipment, and address local health inequalities. So, every single gift is incredibly precious.

Your Will may be one of the most important documents you ever write. That’s because if you have last wishes, including them in your Will is a great way to be certain they’re carried out. A Will is also an excellent place to record your funeral wishes.

Leaving a gift to a charity in your will is a highly personal and private decision.

If you’d like to discuss leaving a legacy, we’d be happy to chat with you.

For any charity, knowing in advance about a future bequest is extremely helpful. It allows us to plan for the future.

If there’s a department or service in the hospital that has had an impact on your life, you can donate money to them.

Alternatively, you can leave a legacy to the Royal Berks Charity in general – in which case, we’ll make sure it goes to the fundraising appeal that most needs help when we receive your gift.

A legacy to the Royal Berks Charity is one from which your surviving family members may benefit too.

Not only because they may one day find themselves being cared for by the hospital – but also because leaving a gift in your will can help reduce your tax bill. The value of any gift will be deducted from your estate for inheritance tax purposes.

Like all charities, we depend a great deal on people like you – people who generously leave gifts in their will.

Legacies are a major source of our revenue, in fact; around 50% of all our money comes from them.

Quite simply, we wouldn’t be able to do our job without people like you.

Before you contact us, please speak to your solicitor.

There are a number of different ways to leave money to charity – as a residuary gift, a pecuniary bequest or as a specific legacy.

Your solicitor will be able to advise which method would be best for you.
