Royal Berks Charity Christmas Appeal 2024:

A heartfelt thank you as we reach the finish line!

As our 2024 Christmas Appeal draws to a close, we are overwhelmed by the incredible generosity and support shown by our local communities. Together, we’ve been working towards our goal of raising £130,000 for vital breast screening equipment – and very soon, we’ll be able to announce the final total raised.

Breast cancer continues to impact thousands of lives every year, and early detection remains one of the most effective ways to save lives. Thanks to the incredible support from our community throughout this appeal, we are one step closer to securing state-of-the-art breast screening equipment. This technology will help doctors spot problems earlier, reduce the need for aggressive treatments, and improve recovery rates for patients.

This appeal has been about more than just equipment – it’s been about easing the fear and stress that comes with a diagnosis.

The success of this appeal is a testament to the power of community spirit. From festive fundraising events, support from our friends at Cisco and HPE to all the generous personal donations we have received, every contribution has played a crucial part in getting us to this point.

We’ve been truly inspired by the kindness and dedication shown by so many people and have appreciated hearing stories from people that have witnessed, first hand, just how important our breast screening service is. Your efforts, no matter how big or small, have made a meaningful difference.

In the coming days, we’ll be sharing the final total raised through the Christmas Appeal, and we can’t wait to celebrate this achievement with you all. Whether you gave £5, £50, bought a Christmas card, attended an event or simply helped spread the word, you’ve been a part of something truly special.

While the Christmas Appeal is coming to an end, the impact of your support will continue for years to come. The funds raised will ensure that our hospital can offer better care, faster diagnoses, and more positive outcomes for those facing breast cancer; thank you for standing with us, for caring so deeply, and for showing what we can achieve when we come together.
