Volunteer role description

Role:                   Volunteer Collection Box Stewards

Charity:              Royal Berks Charity

Report to:          Fundraising Manager

Time & Dates:   Various dates across the year

The role of Volunteer Collection Box Steward is to assist in the distribution and collection of money boxes and buckets.

Collection boxes and buckets are located at various locations across Reading and the surrounding area, and at planned set times will require collecting and exchanging for empty boxes. Once these are returned to the charity, assist in the counting and recording of the monies raised in line with Charity policy. To also recognise and pass on potential new locations where the charity could place further boxes or buckets.

Some of the volunteering time can also be flexible around morning, afternoon and evening as required, working with the location for when they are open.

From time to time there may be a need to return to a location at short notice, though in general this is not expected regularly.

The role may need the use of a vehicle to transfer boxes about, thus could be classified as physical, and for this purpose, we carry out risk assessments on this task.

The Charity will provide you with a branded t-shirt, volunteer badge and will reimburse you for your travelling costs. What we ask of you is to bring your warm welcoming smile, positivity enthusiasm and strength for this role.
